The greatest genius of his epoch, Albert Einstein is still famous as one of the most talented scientists of all time. He had a remarkable life, full of amazing events and things besides his famous theory of relativity. Here are the some interesting facts about the most recognizable theoretical physicist in history.

#1 “If I were not a scientist, I would be a musician.”

At his early age, Einstein used to play violin and was very fond of music. His mother was a talented violinist.

#2 He never learned to swim!

Anyway, the famous scientist was a fan of sailing, which became his lifetime hobby.

#3 He was an advocate for nuclear disarmament

Contrary to popular belief, Einstein never took part in the Manhattan Project. His greatest role in the invention of the weapon was signing Leó Szilárd’s letter to President Franklin Roosevelt, which prompted the president to take an action in developing of the first atomic bombs. After the use of the atomic bomb in Japan, Einstein came to deeply regret this letter.

#4 He hated socks

Einstein even considered wearing them a pain! He often got holes in his socks and was unable to stand it.

#5 His brain was stolen right after his death

The pathologist on call, Thomas Harvey, didn’t return the scientist’s brain after conducting the autopsy. He was later fired for that.

#6 He could have lived longer

Einstein suffered from a burst blood vessel but refused surgery and pronounced his famous words...
“It is tasteless to prolong life artificially.”

Einstein credited smoking with calming benefits!

The famous scientist had a very poor memory. Anyway, Einstein never failed his math exam - it's just a popular myth. He wasn't a bright student, but always excelled in math.

Einstein wasn’t considered a good student, hated school and had strained relationships with most of his teachers.
