Where is the mental region of the human body?

I had plenty of company being wrong.

I'm aware of the mandible, but never heard the chin referred to as the mental.

Curious, I do pretty well and love this but I NEVER look up an answer, always answer within five seconds and wonder if this is the normal pattern. I think one could answer all with some research. Not complaining just wonder what the norm is.

"Menton" is the French word for chin, so, as a retired French teacher, maybe I should have known this, or at least thought of it. But the word "mental" seems to automatically refer to the brain, which is inside the skull, not at the top of it.

So if a person asks "Are you mental?", they are not asking if I'm crazy? What am I, then, the Crimson Chin?!

In all my anatomy classes, never heard it called "mental". There is a mental protuberance that is part of the mandible, but question didn't ask for a protrberance.

So, if someone has a mental illness, it really refers to the chin? Hmm...

Rob Orr, The only "help" I basically use is the replace question. If an entertainment question arises, and I have never heard of what is mentioned in the question or any of the choices, I replace the question. My daily quiz answer choices today were mostly guesses. I did not fare well on the geography quiz of locating cities on the English map, a supplemental quiz they sent. I also would not fare well on one of Australia. Maybe, I would try it. Mentum refers to the chin. Never heard of it being called mental. Would like a rererence to support this claim.
